Are you looking forward to Apple's October event? See what new things might be coming soon by taking a look below!
Exciting new devices were on display during Apple's September iPhone 16 launch event, but it looks like they're not finished yet! There are rumors circulating that Apple will reveal even more updated and new items at an event in October. This change from their customary year upgrade cycle may result in more frequent releases. We may finally be able to get rid of those annoying delays!
What can we anticipate from this forthcoming event, then? And at what precise moment is it taking place? To keep you informed and prepared for all of the exciting news, I've put together this helpful guide. Take a look to see what awaits you!
What date is Apple's 2024 October event?
We've already learned about some leaks this year, and Apple has been holding October launch events for a long. It's important to remember, though, that neither October 2019 nor October 2022 saw any occurrences. The most likely dates for this year's event, based on previous schedules, are either October 14 or 15.
What To Expect From The Apple October Event?
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg claims that Apple is preparing to reveal a number of items before the end of October. On Friday, November 1, at least some of these are expected to be available. Let's explore what Gurman thinks we might witness!
The Latest MacBook Pros
We can anticipate high-end models in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes (J614 and J616) as well as an affordable 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip (code-named J604).
We recently got a preview of the 14-inch MacBook Pro running the much anticipated M4 CPU thanks to Russian YouTuber Wylsacom. A 10-core CPU and GPU (up from the M3's 8 cores) are among the impressive enhancements that are demonstrated in the movie. For improved connectivity and seamless performance, the base model now includes 16GB of RAM and a third Thunderbolt 4 port. See my post on the most recent M4 MacBook Pro leaks for further information!
Updated Mac mini
M4 and M4 Pro chip combinations will be available for the upcoming Mac mini (J773). According to Gurman, this will be the first significant overhaul since Steve Jobs unveiled the mini in 2010.
It will be considerably smaller—nearly the size of an Apple TV! Despite being smaller, the new design may wind up being taller than the present model, which is about 1.4 inches tall. The traditional aluminum body of the new model will remain intact.
Updated iMac
The clean style of the 24-inch iMac, Pro Display XDR, and Studio Display may be used by the next larger-screened iMac. Black bezels are suggested by rumors, and if it looks like the Pro Display XDR, we might see shorter bezels and a smaller bottom chin for a more streamlined appearance.
Additionally, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this iMac would have a 32-inch screen, which is the same size as the Pro Display XDR.
A new iPad mini
Additionally, the iPad mini (J410) is receiving an update. I think the iPad Mini 6's design is great; it feels really high-end. Additionally, the Apple Pencil's magnetic edge is quite useful for jotting notes.
Although it isn't happening this year, some folks might want a more extensive overhaul or even a foldable version. For my part, I like the current style. At 7.7 x 5.3 x 0.25 inches, the dimensions ought to remain rather constant. Additionally, the weight will probably remain at 0.65 pounds unless the battery is increased.
Even though I doubt they will materialize, I have a lot of expectations for the upcoming iPad mini. The main issue I have, though, is whether the A18 or the A16 will be used. Is Apple actually going to reveal a new product that isn't compatible with Apple Intelligence?

Date Of Release For Apple Intelligence
Although Gurman has verified that Apple Intelligence will appear on October 28, Apple has been rather clear that it will be released this month. Therefore, if you have purchased a new iPhone, you will have to wait a few more weeks to take advantage of all the exciting features.
The business is taking its sweet time to ensure that everything goes without a hitch. In addition to making sure their AI cloud servers can manage the additional traffic that these updates bring, they want to fix any significant flaws. When the deployment eventually occurs, it all comes down to providing a positive experience!
Upcoming Apple goods
According to Gurman, Apple will launch a number of new products in the first half of 2025, such as:
-
AirTag Upgrade: A new version of the item finder accessory (B589).
-
The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs with the M4 chip (J613 and J615) are the new models.
-
Prepare for the latest iteration of the iPhone SE, the V59.
-
The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Airs (J607 and J637) have been updated.
-
The new Magic Keyboards are made for the R307 and R308 models of the iPad Air.
Apple just released a stylish new black color option for the Ultra 2 watch this year instead of releasing an Ultra 3 watch. Additionally, they did not alter the Apple Watch SE, which remains their cost-effective option. The flagship Series 10 watch, which has a new design and several intriguing new capabilities, is truly highlighted by this change.
The Ultra and SE are scheduled for two-year refreshes, with an update scheduled for 2025. This approach, which enables Apple to accumulate two years' worth of features for a larger launch, appears to be a reaction to the slowing rate of hardware innovation.
Although they may take some time to reach the market, new Mac Studio and Mac Pro models with M4 CPUs are currently being developed. According to Gurman, the Mac Studio might be released in the middle of the following year. In the meantime, the second half of 2025 is probably when the Mac Pro will debut. In addition, the iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watches, and M5 Macs are anticipated to debut in late 2025.
Final Thoughts
The Apple October event is something I'm quite excited about! Given all the excitement, it looks like some amazing new goods are on the horizon. I'm eager to see what the iMac and M4 Mac Mini will bring!
